Beautiful Halloween

My latest Halloween book features a gorgeous image from Artchix Studio and Tim Holtz Halloween Kraft Resist paper (just about the coolest thing around this season), both inside and cut up for cover embellishments.  I also added a silk flower, Stickles, and, of all things, a bit of Christmas ribbon.

I’ve been using waxed cord instead of waxed thread to bind books lately, because the cord won’t tear the paper as easily when pulled taut, and fits better in the holes left by the Japanese screw punch.  I only wish it came in more than a few colors, because, unlike the rayon seam binding I use for tie closures, it can’t be dyed whatever color I need.  (The orange is a result of mixing Wild Honey and Fired Brick Distress Stains.)

I have so much Halloween paper it’s ridiculous!  Fortunately I’m not yet tired of making Halloween books and have several more in the works.  🙂  Now, who’s ready for trick or treat?
